Salisbury Women’s Lacrosse Trend Upward in Rankings
SALISBURY, Md. – After a 2-0 week that consisted of wins over Rowan University and Eastern Shore rival, Washington College, the Salisbury University women’s lacrosse team moved up to No. 15 in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings and captured the No. 10 spot in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, the organizations announced this week.
Against Rowan, junior attacker Dana King scored five goals to lead Salisbury to a 16-6 victory on Wednesday, March 8. The Sea Gulls kept their strong play going into Saturday, March 26, taking down Washington, 15-8, led by eight different players that scored in the game.
In the Lacrosse Magazine ranking, Middlebury College remains the top-ranked team in the country, Trinity (Conn.) College moved up a spot to No. 2. The College of New Jersey sits at the third spot in the country, Gettysburg College and The State University of New Your at Brockport round out the top five. From the Capital Athletic Conference, York College of Pennsylvania moved up a spot to No. 14 and is the only remaining CAC opponent in the top 20 according to Lacrosse Magazine.
