UMES Bowling Wins Final MEAC North Meet
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore bowling team captured its final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference North Division meet Sunday, going 3-1 with the only loss in competition coming to Howard University.
The Hawks are currently 65-36 overall and 18-6 in MEAC play. The Hawks defeated Morgan State 947-803, Delaware State 937-887 and Coppin State 942-657 before closely losing to Howard 901-896.
Eastern Shore completed the event with a 6-2 record overall. The Shore finished with a two-day total of 7,318 and an average of 183.0. Delaware State had a 6-2 record as well, but averaged 182.3, while Howard was 6-2, but averaged 170.5.
Cayla Hicks (Salem, Va.) finished fourth individually for the Hawks, averaging 182.0 in four traditional games on Saturday.
