The Eagles will begin the defense of their Super Bowl title playing in the first game of the 2018 season.
SportsRadio 94 WIP’s Howard Eskin took to Twitter on Monday to report that the NFL season opener on Thursday, Sept. 6 will most likely feature a rematch of the NFC Championship game.

Former Redskins Quarterback Kirk Cousins will now be under center for Minnesota, after an off season that saw the Vikings shed their three QBs from last year to ink Cousins to a large contract. Cousins faced the Eagles for week one of last year as well. The Eagles could see backup Nick Foles take on the Vikings’ defense again as starter Carson Wentz rehabilitates from knee surgery. Foles had a superior outing against the Vikings last time out, torching the defense for three touchdowns and earning a Super Bowl trip.
As defending Super Bowl champions, the Eagles are guaranteed to host the first 2018 regular-season game. The official schedule of the NFL should be released in April.
