Becraft Resigns At Queen Anne’s
A basketball coaching fixture on the Mid-Shore, Dale Becraft announced on Wednesday he is stepping down as head boy’s basketball coach at Queen Anne’s effective immediately.
Becraft, who has been dealing with back trouble, lessened his coaching load at the start of the season by handing off several of his responsibilities to assistant B.J. Miller. Miller will assume the head coach role for the Lions.
In addition to coaching Queen Anne’s, Becraft served as head coach at Chesapeake College and was an assistant at Washington College.
He led the Lions to the 2016 Maryland High School Basketball 2A Final Four. Queen Anne’s lost to Middletown 66-53 in the semifinal round. Becraft helped produce one of the all-time greats in Queen Anne’s history, Damonte Dodd. Dodd would leave the University of Maryland with the 8th most blocked shots (141) in the history of the Terrapins program.
