Berlin Attempts To Keep Their Little League Season Alive

August 9, 2018 Posted by Matt Pencek Featured Sports, Local Sports

Bristol, CT –  Three games into the 2018 Little League Mid-Atlantic Regional, Berlin is three wins away from a first ever trip to the World Series.  A destination familiar to Berlin’s Thursday night opponent.  Clinton County borders Lycoming County, PA and Williamsport, the home of the Little League World Series.

Berlin has wins over Milton, DE and Washington, D.C.  Their one loss to Middletown, NJ puts Berlin in the pressure situation of having to run the table.  One more loss ends the season.  A Berlin win tonight and it sets up a Friday rematch against Middletown.

The player who wears #1 for Berlin has been a top producer at the plate.  In ten at bats, Alex Navarro has five hits.

Pitchers Stephen Wade, Owen Knerr, and Kannon Cropper have started the first three games.  As of this post, WBOC has been told who takes the bump against Clinton County will be a game time decision.  Wade has the most rest.  He was dominant in the Sunday August 5 win over Milton racking up 11 strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work.
