Blue Hens Motivated By 7th Place Prediction

August 15, 2016 Posted by Matt Pencek Featured Sports, Regional Sports, University Of Delaware

Newark, DE – The Delaware Blue Hens return 17 starters (9 on offense and 8 on defense) from last season’s team. They have added one the best linebackers the First State has produced in this millennium when Troy Reeder transferred from Penn State to return home. All that should be reason for optimism to improve on 2015’s 4-7 record. Not so according the coaches of the Colonial Athletic Association. They predict the Blue Hens will finish seventh in conference play.

“That’s just adding fuel to the fire,” running back Wes Hills said. “We worked hard and there’s no more excuses. this is our year.”

After rushing for 952 yards in 2014, Hills suffered a foot injury in the 2015 opener against Jacksonville. With head coach Dave Brock stating Kareem Williams will redshirt this season, along with Jalen Randolph and Thomas Jefferson, Hills is part of three headed attack at running back.
