Delaware State Lacrosse Team Will Play In Southern Conference
The Delaware State Women’s Lacrosse team sixth season in 2018 will be played in the Southern Conference. On Tuesday, the conference announced it was adding women’s lacrosse as its 22nd sports. Delaware State is joined by Central Michigan and Detroit Mercy as associate members. The new additions will join full Southern Conference members Furman, Mercer and Wofford to form a six-team league with an automatic bid to the NCAA championship tournament.
Nearly all of the Hornet’s athletic teams compete in the MEAC. Lacrosse is one of the sports the MEAC does not administer.
The Hornets completed a 6-24 campaign in 2017 as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
