SALISBURY, Md.- The Delmarva Shorebirds, a Minor League affiliate with the Baltimore Orioles, announced Monday that they have canceled their annual Fourth of July fireworks show.
“While the 2020 Minor League baseball season remains on pause, the Shorebirds explored all alternatives to celebrate July 4th with fireworks,” the Shorebirds said on the team’s website. “Unfortunately, due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, it not possible to host fireworks at this time and we will not be hosting our annual July 4th fireworks show.”
The Shorebirds’ announcement comes nearly two weeks after organizers of Salisbury’s annual Red White and BOOM fireworks announced the cancellation of that event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
