Dover International Speedway Turns Turquoise for Delaware Residents Affected by Lung Cancer
DOVER, Del.- Dover International Speedway is partnering with the American Lung Association in Delaware by turning turquoise to honor those impacted by lung cancer as part of Turquoise Takeover (June 14-20).
The illumination is part of a greater effort by the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE initiative to raise awareness about lung cancer through its signature color, turquoise.
Dover International Speedway’s Monster Monument at Victory Plaza joins other landmarks across the country in turning turquoise.
During this challenging time, it’s important for all those living with lung cancer to feel hope, optimism and support.
About every five minutes, a woman in the U.S. is told that she has lung cancer.
In 2020, it is estimated that 890 people in Delaware will be diagnosed with lung cancer, and 510 will succumb to the deadly disease.
