Matt Gono has made his case to be selected this week at the NFL Draft. Now he must wait to see if one of the league’s 32 teams are willing to take the Wesley College offensive lineman.
Following a pro day last month, Gono has visited the Lions, 49ers, and Bears. In the season of mock draft mania with many media outlets offering up their analysis, Gono has been projected as high as a fifth round pick to not being taken at all. If Gono is still left after the seventh round on April 28 he likely will be signed as an undrafted free agent. It is the same path another former Wolverine great, Joe Callahan took to the NFL. Callahan, is now in his third season in the league as a member of the Packers.
