OWINGS MILLS, Md.- In December 2015, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco had surgery on his knee to repair an ACL and MCL tear. In March 2016 he received a three contract extension.
Flacco was held out of last week’s minicamp as Ryan Mallett got the work as the top quarterback on the depth chart. Last Thursday Flacco said if the Super Bowl were that day he could play. Since the Super Bowl was not on June 16 the next step to returning to the starting lineup is his confidence in the knee.
“When I’m out there running around and cutting on it and doing those things there’s not tentativeness, ” Flacco said. “Because I didnt hurt it that way I hurt it by getting hit. It will probably be a little different the first time I take a couple of dropbacks and feel guys coming in my face.”
Flacco was injured in the week 11 win over the Rams. He produced 2,791 and 14 touchdown passes in ten starts last year.
