Joe Flacco is giving his surgically repaired knee some protection. The Ravens quarterback said he will wear a brace on his left knee during practice and games for the entire 2016 season. Flacco states it is purely precautionary and not because he has any discomfort.
Flacco tore his ACL and MCL in the 2015 week 11 game against the Rams. He was held out of the June minicamp, but he was still a presence at the Owings Mills facility working out with whatever players and team personnel that were on site.
“No matter how little it was, accomplishing something every day is good for your confidence and it makes you feel good about yourself,” Flacco said about his rehabilitation program. “My head probably grew a little bit coming in every day feeling like I did a good job. I’m sure our defense will knock me down a little bit,” he joked.
The Ravens first exhibition game is Aug. 11 in Baltimore against the Panthers.
