The Cape Henlopen girls lacrosse team is the nine time reigning state champion in Delaware. Over the seasons, Cape has been sending their players to the Division I college level. Particularly to Temple University. After the 2013 season Anna Frederick found her way to Broad St. Frederick was a three time all-state selection. In her junior season at Cape Henlopen, Frederick broke the school record for goals scored in a season (81).
Two years later Defender Taylor Gooch followed. This year she is joined by Anna’s younger sister Lizzie. Years after her first visit to the Lewes school, Temple head coach Bonnie Rosen has found a potential feeder system for the Owls program. “The atmosphere made me realize that lacrosse was the very special piece down there and we should try and look for more,” Rosen said.
