It has been a great run for Joe Gibbs racing. Three drivers have secured spots in the Chase and thanks to Denny Hamlin, JGR is home to the 2016 Daytona 500 Champion.
Since that win, Hamlin’s season has been on the decline, falling to 13th in the points standings. As he heads to Dover this week, Hamlin is looking at a formula for winning the Cup.
“The further you get into the summer you want to start building some momentum and getting some good solid runs heading into the Chase. Some of the more successful Chase runs I have had have been four or five races before the Chase and starting to go on a little roll by winning a few races and leading a bunch of laps.”
