Making the final roster heading into week one of an NFL team is a challenge for any undrafted player. Wesley College’s Joe Callahan looks to go from NCAA Division III stand-out to Green Bay Packer.
CBS Sports is listing Callahan third on Green Bay’s depth chart behind Aaron Rodgers and Brett Hundley. At times last season the Packers had three quarterbacks active on game day. Another possibility is that Callahan will land on the practice squad and continue to watch and learn from Rodgers.
Recently, during off season workouts, Green Bay coaches gave the first team some time-off and were able to evaluate the remaining three quarterbacks (Callahan, Hundley, and Marquise Williams). “All three of the young guys did some really good things particularly in the redzone,” said Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy. “You can’t get enough of those types of reps.”
