Delaware State Looks To End Slide In The Big Apple

November 29, 2016 Posted by Matt Pencek Delaware State, Featured Sports, Regional Sports

In the season opener on November 11, Delaware State’s Men’s Basketball team defeated Division II Clarks Summit.  Since then five straight losses.  It will be a challenge for the Hornets to break that slide and win their first Division I game tonight as they visit St. John’s.

St. John’s also has problems this season.  They have lost four straight and bring an overall record of 2-4 into this game.  Take out the Clarks Summit game and Delaware State is averaging 66.6 points per game.

The Hornets do have three players averaging double figures in scoring; DeAndre Haywood (15.2 ppg), Kavon Walker (12.0 ppg), and Devin Morgan (11.3 ppg).

Delaware State’s Division I opponents are averaging 83.6 points per game and the Hornets rebounding margin of -6.0 is ranked 316th in the nation.  Tipoff is at 6:30 PM.
