Major League Baseball’s home run leader will take his talents to the next week’s home run derby. On Tuesday, the Orioles’ Mark Trumbo learned he was named to the All-Star team for the second time in his career.
Other than the game itself, the main highlight of the All-Star break is the Home Run Derby. This year’s event will take place in San Diego on Monday, July 11.
Heading into Thursday’s action, Trumbo’s 26 homers are the most in the majors. He hit two home runs in Wednesday’s 14 inning 6-4 win over the Dodgers.
Trumbo’s only other appearance in both the All-Star Game and Derby was in 2012. He finished third in that competition.
