BURTONSVILLE, MD – The Pocomoke field hockey team is heading back to the 1A State Championship game. The Warriors beat Manchester Valley, 3-0 on Wednesday night in the 1A State Semifinals.
The game was held at Paint Branch high school.
The Warriors opened the scoring in the first half with Lexi Butler converting a penalty stroke. Early in the second half, Dani Batze found the back of the cage for the Warriors second goal. Late in the game, Kasey Lee capped the scoring.
Pocomoke is now only one more win away from the program’s first state championship since 2010. This is a storied program hungry for another state title. The Warriors have 18 state championships in their trophy case.
The Warriors will play in the 1A State Championship game on Saturday at Washington College. Pocomoke will face the winner of the Patterson Mill/Patuxent semifinal game. The state championship game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
