Ravens’ Pitta Misses Wed. Training Camp After Scuffle
There is the expression, “It’s all fun and games until…(insert injury here).” After missing the Ravens last 29 regular season games with injuries, most notably to his hip, tight end Dennis Pitta is now dealing with a finger sprain. The injury occurred during Monday’s open practice at the stadium in Baltimore when Pitta was involved in a scuffle.
During the Ravens 2012 Super Bowl winning season, Pitta achieved career highs for receptions (61) and touchdowns (7). Since 2012, Pitta has appeared in just seven games over the 2013 and 2014 seasons and did not play at all for the Ravens in 2015.
Following the stadium practice, Pitta responded to Joe Flacco‘s joke about Pitta getting a few days off of training camp because of another injury.
“Fortunately it wasn’t anything serious and we can laugh about it,” Pitta said.
