Salisbury Earns At-Large To NCAA Tournament

February 25, 2019 Posted by WBOC Staff Featured Sports, Regional Sports, Salisbury University

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Salisbury University men’s basketball team will continue its 2018-19 season being selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament as the field was announced on Monday.

The Sea Gulls (19-8) will travel to Oswego State University to play in a four-team opening weekend. Salisbury will take on Baldwin Wallace University on Friday, March 1, with the winner taking on the winner of the host Lakers and Salem State University. The second round game will be played on Saturday.

Salisbury was picked as one of 21 at-large selections after falling in a Capital Athletic Conference semifinal last Thursday to eventual CAC champion Christopher Newport University, 87-71. The Yellow Jackets (20-8) earned an automatic bid after winning the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 5 seed.

Friday’s game will mark first meeting between the two programs since Baldwin Wallace won a 105-98 contest during the 1997-98 season.
