Regular Season Finale Loss Impacts Salisbury Men’s Lacrosse Ranking

SALISBURY, MD – The Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team has been ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation, according to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and No. 2 in the Laxmagazine.com rankings released on Monday.

The Sea Gulls (15-1) went 1-1 last week with a 17-10 win over then-No. 3 York College of Pennsylvania before falling in overtime, 11-10 to then-No.14 Cabrini University.

In the USILA poll, the Gulls hold onto the top spot with 401 points and 10 first-place votes, while Bates College is in second with 397 points and 10 first-place votes. The rest of the top five is comprised of Tufts University (373 points), Rochester Institute of Technology (342 points and one first-place vote), and York (338 points).

In the Laxmagazine.com rankings, Bates gets the top spot and is followed up by Salisbury, Tufts, Denison University, and York.
