Salisbury Maintains Top Ten Field Hockey National Ranking

Gilbert, AZ – The most recent Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and the Salisbury University field hockey team held steady as the No. 6 team in the nation for the second-straight week.

Salisbury (5-1) was undefeated last week, shutting out both Washington (Md.) College and Cabrini University by a combined score of 11-0. The Sea Gulls earned 752 points in the poll, behind No. 5 Babson College (811 points) which dropped from No. 4. The College of New Jersey (856 points) replaced Babson at No. 4 after dropping from No. 3 last week.

The top two teams in the nation remain unchanged – Middlebury College sits at No. 1, garnering 1,111 points, with Messiah College at No. 2 with 1,056 points. The biggest jump of the week came from Tufts University (869 points), which catapulted to the No. 3 ranking after being ranked No. 8 last week.

The Sea Gulls will square off with No. 15 Johns Hopkins University on the road on Wednesday, September 19 at 6 p.m. before returning home to face TCNJ on Saturday, September 22 at 1 p.m.
