Salisbury University Heads to New Jersey for NCAA Tournament Play
The Salisbury University Men’s Basketball team enter the NCAA Tournament Friday against Middlebury College ranked No. 24 in the country by D3hoops.com.
Even though the Seagulls (21-6) lost an overtime nail-biter against Christopher Newport (26-1) in the CAC Tournament Championship game, their record was good enough to earn them an at-large bid.
Salisbury is down one spot from their No. 23 ranking last week, but they picked up more points (67 compared to 53). The team begins tomorrow’s game having won 6 of the last 7.
The Panther’s (17-10) have been slightly worse, winning 5 of their last 7, but were victorious in the NESCAC Championship game. Despite winning their conference, Middlebury is unranked with only two points.
There will be a bus available for students interested in attending the game at Stockton University. Tickets are available at the GUC Info Desk for $10 with a student ID and game admission with a student ID will be $5. The bus will leave Salisbury’s Dogwood parking lot at 1 p.m. and return by 11 p.m.
Tomorrow’s winner will go on to play the winner of Stockton University and Keene State College. Stockton (21-6) and Keene State (18-10) both won their conferences, but are both unranked.
