Smyrna Places Five on DE All-State Team

December 8, 2015 Posted by Matt Pencek Featured Sports, Local Sports

On Saturday, Smyrna captured its first-ever state championship.  On Monday, the Eagles captured many of the top post season honors.  Highlighting the list is running back Will Knight who won 2015 Offensive Player of the Year.  The sophomore rushed for more than 2,000 yards, while scoring 33 touchdowns on the ground.  What likely gave him the edge over Salesianum’s Colby Reeder was Knight’s 51 two-point conversions.  Those successful attempts accounted for 15.6 percent of all of Smyrna’s points in 2015.

Smyrna running back Will Knight is the 2015 Delaware High School Offensive Player of the Year.
