In a brief period of time, Smyrna head coach Mike Judy has transformed his football program from one that was a hunter in the Henlopen Conference to one that is now the hunted. As the Eagles finish their first week of training camp it is with a new distinction, defending Division I State Champion.
“Because of the loss of so many seniors and such a good group of guys I thought there would be a little bit of a downer but these guys have handled it like pros,” Judy said.
Back to lead the Smyrna offense, All-State quarterback Nolan Henderson. During that championship season, Henderson passed for 3,297 yards and 36 touchdowns. Last month, the senior verbally committed to playing college football at the University of Delaware.
