UMES Bowling Finishes 21st at Music City Classic
Smyrna, Tennessee – Junior Danielle August (Mililani, Hawaii) averaged a 199.6 over five traditional games with a high of 224 against Prairie View as the UMES Bowling Team posted a 4-1 record at the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tennessee.
The Hawks grabbed wins against Youngstown State (960-938) and Prairie View A&M (963-900) to open Saturday. They followed that up with a 1,047-985 loss to Stephen F. Austin. Junior Jacqueline Rhoda (Portage, Indiana) finished 28th with a 196.8 average over five games.
During Sunday’s bracket round, The Shore fell 4-1 to Youngstown State and then lost a 4-0 decision to Prairie View A&M.
They finished the Sunday with a 4-1 victory against Alabama State.
Eastern Shore averaged a 179.0 in the event and 1,773 pins off the leader — McKendree University.
The 32-team field for the event — hosted by Vanderbilt — featured 20 of the National Tenpins Coaches Association Top 25.
The Hawks will travel to Chesapeake, Virginia for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships March 23-25 at Chesapeake Lanes.
