PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Outdoor Track & Field team is set for its meet schedule, which was released on Monday.
The Hawks will embark on their longest trip during their season opener. Coastal Carolina hosts The Shore in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational later this week (Mar. 16-17) in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Following their return, The Hawks will then return to the four state region of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia for the rest of the regular season. This includes two trips to the University of Delaware and trips to meets at Towson, William & Mary, Christopher Newport, and Virginia.
At the end of April (26-28), Maryland Eastern Shore heads to Philadelphia to compete in the Penn Relay Carnival at Franklin Field. On the way back (Apr. 29) the Hawks make one last trip to Newark for the Delaware Open.
The postseason will kick off with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina (May 3-5). The IC4A/ECAC Championships will be held one week later (May 11-13) at Princeton, New Jersey. NCAA preliminaries will be in Tampa, Florida followed by nationals in Eugene, Oregon.
Maryland Eastern Shore’s men finished the indoor season ninth in the MEAC, while the women placed tenth. During the 2017 outdoor campaign both teams earned fifth place in the conference.
