Dover, DE – In the first NCAA Division III East Regional Rankings of the season, the Wesley College football team was ranked fourth in the East region.
The regional rankings are compiled by the official Regional Advisory Committee and are an accurate representation of where teams stand in the eyes of the NCAA Selection Committee that will put together the bracket for the upcoming NCAA Division III Football Playoffs.
Wesley is also ranked 13th in the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association national rankings.
This is the first of two regional rankings that will be announced this season; the next will be released on Nov. 8.
A trio of unbeatens are in the top three spots ahead of Wesley in the first East regional rankings. Delaware Valley is ranked first in the East region while SUNY-Brockport and Springfield (Mass.) come in at two and three respectively in the rankings. Frostburg State rounds out the top five in the fifth spot.
This Saturday the Wolverines host Salisbury. The Sea Gulls bring a seven game win streak to the game in Dover.
