Delaware will have two field hockey champions for the 2017 season. A change from previous seasons that put all of the state’s schools, regardless of enrollment, into one playoff bracket. Delmar won the 2016 title in the old format. This year the Wildcats have the number one seed in Division II. Arch-rival Cape Henlopen was awarded the number two seed in Division I.
One contest is scheduled for November 7; fifth seed Lake Forest plays host to 12th seed Indian River. The semifinals and finals for both divisions will be held at the University of Delaware in Newark.
