MILTON, Del.- The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association came to a decision Thursday to delay all high school sports and shorten seasons.
Official dates for the start of play will not be announced until September. Ultimately, board members decided to begin with the winter season followed by fall and spring athletics.
The members’ big point of emphasis was that all athletes deserve to play and that one season should not be depleted or canceled if possible.
The board members are currently going through emergency regulations in regards to COVID-19. Those regulations outline protocols and procedures for specific sports.
