Former Queen Anne’s and University of Maryland Basketball player Damonte Dodd is free after a Thursday bail hearing in Upper Malboro, MD. Dodd is charged with second degree rape, accused of having sex with an intoxicated woman without her consent in an alleged incident on Nov. 1, 2017.
As part of the condition for his release, Dodd had to surrender his passport which hinders his ability to play professional basketball in Europe.
Dodd’s attorney, Thomas Mooney, was quoted by WTOP radio stating this is a “he-said, she-said” case. Dodd is due back in court for a status hearing in September. The trial is expected to begin in November.
