Since 2013, the Parkside Rams football team win total has increased each season. Parkside was 4-6 in 2013. A .500 record at 5-5 followed in 2014. Last season, a winning mark at 6-4. For the 2016 Rams to obtain a seven or eight win season, the offensive line is being viewed as the strength on that side of the ball.
“We have five returners in the offensive line and our tight end is also a returner,” head coach Brendan Riley said. “With those that are back, I feel our running game should be solid.”
At quarterback is senior Jake Renshaw, who missed time with an injury in 2015. Whether it is passing or running, Renshaw will look to get the ball in the hands of playmaker Simeyon Mumford who will play both in the slot and at running back.
Having more wins will require a stronger finish to the season. In 2015, Parkside won its first four games. It followed that with four losses in the final.
