The Worcester Prep boy’s and girl’s varsity soccer teams were awarded with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Team Academic award the school announced Thursday.
This award recognizes exemplary student performance by entire teams in the classroom.
This is the fifth consecutive year the boy’s team have received this award and the fourth consecutive year for the girl’s team, cementing consistent academic excellence as well as excellence on the pitch.
The boy’s team was one of only 138 boy’s teams selected while the girl’s team was one of 251 teams selected throughout the United States.
To qualify for this award, the team collectively must have a minimum of a 3.25 grade point average throughout the entire academic year.
This award caps off a successful season in which both teams secured the ESIAC conference as well as a championship.
